GISC’s Competency Development Program for Coach Certification is suitable for those new to coaching as well as for experienced coaches. Newly reconfigured in our hybrid format, the program will open and close with in-person sessions, and meet for two live-online sessions in between. The program consists of four sessions of theory, discussion and extensive coaching practice. Formal sessions are supplemented with additional opportunities for participants to practice their skills, share concepts with their peers, and work with a qualified faculty/ mentor coach one-on-one.
The program also includes a full day of interactive work to assist participants in establishing their own coaching practices. It meets the ICF requirement for live interaction instruction on core competencies and ethical standards. Successful completion of the program earns the GISC Coach Certificate and qualifies graduates to apply for an ICF credential.

Enrollment will be limited to allow for a strong participant-to-faculty/mentor coach ratio in this intimate program.
Successful completion of the coach training program will earn participants the GISC Coach Certificate. Interested GISC-certified graduates will be qualified to apply for International Coach Federation (ICF) credentials.
There is no prerequisite to the course. However, this program requires an application, which can be found on our website, as well as a $250 application fee that will be applied toward tuition.
Program Requirements
To satisfactorily graduate and receive certification as a GISC-Certified Coach, you must complete the following requirements:
Attendance: Full attendance at all four Gestalt Coach Training Sessions (November, December, February and April) is required in order to graduate. Participants must make up any classroom time missed for illness or personal reasons through discussions with assigned learning partner and/or arrangements with and approval by the program faculty.
Feedback and Progress Reports:
Participants receive ongoing feedback during the practicum portion of the training sessions. Participants can also review segments of their recorded coaching sessions with their Mentor Coach for feedback during monthly mentor coaching meetings. Participants will also receive three written evaluations of coaching competencies during the program to support ongoing skills development.

This program is a Level 2 Certified coach training program through the International Coach Federation. Successful completion of the program will earn participants the GISC Coach Certificate and qualify them to apply for an International Coach Federation (ICF) professional credential. ICF accredited Level 2 program; 125 minimum total program hours.

Professional Development Groups for Coaches
Participants will be offered the opportunity to continue in-person or virtual professional development group sessions after the program ends.

GISC's Competency Development Program for Coach Certification is the only ICF Accredited Coach Training Program located in Massachusetts.
Hybrid Program
The program's first and last sessions will be held in-person. Sessions 2 and 3 will be live-online. Complete connection instructions will be provided prior to the start of the second session.
