This program focuses on coaching applications of the Cape
Cod Model©, a specific intervention technique that supports
the individual’s own competencies and ability to move towards
change. It is designed for both clinically and organizationally
trained individuals either working as coaches or for those
considering a move into coaching.
The program features supervised practice applying the Cape Cod Model©, with clients. It also provides opportunities to discuss how working with an individual is similar to and different from working with a small group or organization. We will explore and expand on the ways participants use themselves in the coaching process, and there will be opportunities to discuss challenging coaching cases.
In the context of applying the Cape Cod Model© in a one-on-one setting, participants will clarify their understanding of the role of a coach, better appreciate the difference between coaching and therapy, explore the coach’s relationship with an organization, and learn how to determine whether a client needs more than coaching.
